BIO INFORMATION
ROOT CELLAR, a five member acoustic band, formed in the Spring of 2007 in the Deerfield/Greenfield area of the Connecticut River valley of Western Massachusetts. They perform music from the standard folk and acoustic repertoire in addition to contemporary and traditional celtic, and original Americana. They feature guitars, bass, cello, and piano. All five are vocalists. Pat & Tex LaMountain perform memorable and stirring duet harmonies. The three women, Daphne Bye, Jennie McAvoy and Pat offer energetic vocal trios. Mark Fraser soars in with cello solos that range in style from angular swing to soothing lullaby. His bass drives the up-tempo numbers. Tex adds acoustic guitar leads and rock-steady rhythms. Jennie sows in well-crafted guitar arrangements to support her “wise and angelic” mezzo-soprano voice. With her audience-winning stage presence, she is a skilled song interpreter. Daphne’s harmonies, naturally-blending voice and accomplished piano add a range of lyrical dressings to the mix. Pat writes haunting, melodic songs with an occasional touch of humor and she sings with intention and drama. Tex’s upbeat songs look into the heart and soul of everyday life experience.
ROOT CELLAR: memorable melodies, dynamic harmonies, uplifting songs, a gifted ensemble. 8 minute demo DVD available
